How to spice up your iced coffee

It's summertime, which means a lot of folks who don't already drink iced coffee year-round switch over for the season. And with the sun heating up, why not change up your generic morning coffee order.

Black

Simple, yet reliable, an iced black coffee will never steer you wrong. Not overly sweet, but refreshing and tasty, a black coffee is good for any time of the day.

Recipe:

- Black coffee

- Ice

Just brew your normal cup of hot coffee and pour it over ice. It's really that simple!

Cold brew

A cold brew gives you a much smoother texture and a more rich taste as opposed to regular black iced coffee, due to the fact that it is brewed cold. This coffee takes longer to brew, which means when you order it out, its more expensive. For many though, this cost is well worth it.

Recipe:

- Coffee

- Cold water

- Ice

Different to black coffee, take you coffee and mix it into cold water. Allow it to sit for 12-14 hours, and your cold brew is done! Strain your coffee, pour into a cup of ice and you are ready to go.

Cold Foam

Personally speaking, cold foam is one of my favorite ways to have iced coffee. It's simple, but delicious, made from frothed milk, without heat or steam. Once made, the fluffy topping can either be mixed in or will simply fall downwards on its own over time.

Recipe:

- Iced coffee of choice

- Half and Half

- Sugar or sweetener of choice

Take your half and half and sugar and place it into a cup or milk frother. If you are using a handheld milk frother, turn it on and place it inside the cup. Hold there, mixing until the cream is frothy. Pour over your iced coffee and enjoy! You can also make different flavored cold foam by adding different flavors (such as matcha, brown sugar, etc.), the possibilities are endless!

Whipped

Whipped coffee swept through the nation during the height of the pandemic, with everyone gushing over the frothy beverage. It takes simple coffee to the next level and we are here for it!

Recipe:

- Hot water

- Instant coffee

- Sugar

- Ice

In order to make yourself a frothy cup, put 2 tablespoons of hot water, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 2 tablespoons of instant coffee into a bowl. Using a whisk or electric mixer, blend ingredients together until your whipped coffee is finished. Pour over ice and enjoy!

Frappuccino

Everyone knows about the frappuccino. A reliable, sweet treat makes it perfect for summer. It is refreshing and the flavors are endless. Common frappes include, mocha, caramel, vanilla bean, chocolate chip, and many many more.

Recipe:

There are many different ways to make a frappuccino, but common steps include mixing all of your flavors and an espresso shot in with ice, to create the refreshing goodness we all love!
